There are several classifications for Anaemia and each requires a particular kind of treatment.

Deficiency of Iron

Iron is a vital nutrient that is required for the production of red blood cells in the body. When the iron content in the body reduces, the creation of red blood cells is hampered which contributes to Anaemia.

This can be due to excessive bleeding during childbirth, gastrointestinal infections, blood loss as a result of injuries, etc. Inadequate diet and chronic illness may also lead to iron-deficiency anemia.

Folic Acid Deficiency

This kind of anemia is due to the absence of Folic Acid in the blood. Folic acid is a B-group vitamin that’s found in green vegetables and fruits. If we don’t consume enough vegetables and fruits or if the veggies are overcooked, a folic acid deficiency may grow.

Most elderly women suffer from this kind of anemia like during pregnancy the body requires higher levels of Folic Acid. Symptoms include tiredness, weakness, memory lapse and enhanced mood swings.

Pernicious Anaemia

Pernicious anemia results from the absence of vitamin B12 and largely affects individuals within the age group of 50-60 years. Pernicious anemia is mostly hereditary but in some cases, that can result from autoimmune disorders.
