A HEPA filter is composed of fiber mats that are distributed randomly in each other forming a fiber mesh of different sizes all placed on top of each other repeatedly to form a filter.
Air that passes through the mat filters particles trapped inside and after a certain period of time it can be changed and all the trapped particles are discarded. A HEPA filter is targeting small particles and stick them to the fiber by one of three methods:
This works with larger particles that are unable to pass through the fiber and deviate even when using airflow contour. The higher the airflow and lower fiber separation, the more particles will stick to the filter.
This happens when the particles are in the air and with air currents and attached fibers when they come into close contact with it. Using a HEPA filter can drastically reduce the number of pollutants in the air and today its use is not confined to the commercial venture.
