A stylish blend of a traditional samurai film flavor and Takeshi's original
comedy/entertainment taste. The story is quite simple - a blind but skilled
sowrdsman kills all the bad guys in town to help townspeople - and sword
sequences are genuine. Yet the story is punctuated by the strong beat of
people's life sound, a few hilarious scenes and the famous "geta"
clogs tap dancing festival.
The film won Silver Lion Awardf for the best director in 2003 Venice Film
Festival.
