Story of young soldiers who fought on the battelship Yamato towards the end of WWII. A woman asks an old fisherman to take her to the point where Yamato was sunk. She is an adopted daughter of Mamoru Uchida, and the fisherman a surviving Yamato soldier, Katsumi Kamio. On the surface of the sea where his old collegues rest, Kamio remembers his battle on Yamato.
The film was a big hit in early 2006, with 5 billion yen gross. It is considered
one of the example of big budget J-movie in 2006 Hoga boom.
