Fantasy story of love and family, and one of the recent big box office
hit "pure love" movies. Takumi's wife Mio passes away at 28,
leaving young Yuji behind. In the picture book for Yuji, she wrote she
would be back during the rainy season one year later. And she actually
comes back in front of Takumi and Yuji, in the beautiful forest they often
took walk together. They spend six happy but somewhat strange weeks, and
re-discover their love.
An unexpected story line adds another interesting twist to the "cry-able",
romantic love drama. Kabuki star Shido Nakamura's acting of the pure-hearted
man suffering from autonomic imbalance is impressive. Yuko Takeuchi was
nominated in the Best Actress category in Japan Academy Awards in 2005.
Scheduled to be re-made by Warner Brothers.
