Born on June 17, 1983, Kazunari Ninomiya is a member of a boys band "Arashi",
one of the popular idol groups under the management of Johnny's Entertainment.
Ninomiya joined Johnny's at 13 years of age to start training and Arashi
was formed on 1999 with four other members.
He started playing in TV dramas before forming Arashi, and the first leading
role drama was made in 1999. His first major appearance in the feature
movies was Yukio Ninagawa's "Ao no Honoo" (literal translation
"Blue Flame") in 2003. There, he played a 17-year old boy who
kills his stepfather to protect his mother and sister. His reputation of
acting ability has been established, helped by this collaboration with
this internationally famed director known for his stage act directing,
including interpretations of Shakespeare. Nino is playing in his first
Hollywood film "Letters from Iwo Jima" as a key supporting role,
and the next film "Kiiroi Namida" (literal translation "Yellow
Tears") by director Isshin Inudo is schedule to open in sprint 2007.
